Low Fat Chocolate Applesauce Cake


Chocolate Applesauce Cake
Low Fat

1 1/3 cup(s) all-purpose flour (substituted with white whole wheat flour)
1/2 cup(s) unsweetened cocoa powder 
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup(s) sugar (substituted with ¼ cup + 2 tbsp Splenda sugar blend)
1/4 cup(s) fat free egg substitute
3 Tbsp reduced-calorie margarine, melted
1 1/3 cup(s) unsweetened applesauce
1 cup(s) lite whipped topping

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray.
Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and sugar. Beat together egg substitute, margarine and applesauce; blend into dry ingredients.
Spoon mixture into pan and smooth top. Bake until cake feels slightly firm in center, about 25 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into 9 pieces. Top each piece with 1 tablespoon of whipped topping.

Nutritional value w/o whipped topping: 133 calories, 9 grams sugar, 28 grams carbs, 5 grams fat

Nutritional value with whipped topping: 155 calories, 11 grams sugar, 31 grams carbs, 6 grams fat
